Brazil Posts Surge in Exports to China in November

Brazil’s exports to China rose sharply in November, reaching $8.27 billion, a 41% increase from a year earlier, according to data released Thursday by the Foreign Trade Secretariat of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC). The performance underscores China’s role as the main driver of Brazil’s outbound trade.
Year-to-date shipments to the Asian country totaled $92.91 billion, up 4.2% from the same period in 2024. Imports also increased: purchases from China rose 3.1% in October to $5.70 billion, and climbed 12.1% from January through November, reaching $65.54 billion. Brazil maintained a positive trade balance with China, posting a $2.57 billion surplus for the month and $27.37 billion for the year to date.
On the import side, Brazil’s purchases of Chinese goods rose 3.1% in October to $5.704 billion, and climbed 12.1% from January through November, reaching $65.542 billion. The figures highlight China’s continued weight in Brazil’s trade balance.
