In Short:
Brazilian coffee exports reached a total of 4.29 million bags in March, a 37.8% increase compared to the same period in 2023. The positive performance is a reflection of the rise in arabica exports and, especially, robusta/conilon.
The higher numbers of these two grain varieties - which also reached a historic high of 846,700 bags - were already expected after significant declines in Vietnamese and Indonesian exports, which still raise concerns about the global balance of the variety in the 24/25 cycle, according to a Hedgepoint report.
In Vietnam, adverse weather affected the 22/23 harvest, which led coffee growers to reduce the cultivated area. In Indonesia, also due to similar causes, the production reduction is mainly due to the low volume of rainfall in the 23/24 cycle.
